Keyboard Project in Progress
We know it’s been a long year, and we’d like to start by thanking you: without the support of those who joined our Patron Support Campaign, this project would not have been possible. Thanks to you, today we can share the journey that has brought us this far.
We are currently in the function programming phase, and we’re already more than halfway through it. So far, we have built two prototypes: first the 37-key version and then the 49-key version. The control panel is being programmed thanks to the contribution of Guido Salaya (GS Music).
Our journey so far:
- November 2024 → Launch of the Patrón Support System.
- December 2024 → We reached our goal thanks to all your support.
- January – June 2025 → We began working on the prototype, focusing on three main areas:
- Case: design and variations in metal, tolex, and different sizes. This work combines design and assembly. Here, Xini plays a key role, taking care of assembly and tolex covering.
- Engineering and conceptual development: defining functions, designing the control panel, PCB, and electronics.
- Programming: carried out in collaboration with Guido Salaya, to implement all the keyboard’s functions.
- Our work earlier this year allowed us to present our first prototype at Superbooth 2025 in May, where it was tested by artists such as Lisa Bella Donna, Anthony Marinelli, among others. We received excellent feedback, even though the keyboard still had only basic functionality. Their comments and suggestions motivated us to keep moving forward.
- July – August 2025 → We completed the 37-key prototype cabinet, continued with function programming, and advanced in the design of the metal cases.
- September 2025 – Present → We are now in the final stages before definitive production, fine-tuning both the programming and cabinet design. We are working every day on the programming details — testing the keyboard, reviewing its functionalities, and taking note of what works and what doesn’t in order to correct those issues and improve them.
What’s next
Our goal is to have the keyboard finished by January 2026 and, from then on, begin production of the first commercial units.
Thank you for your patience and trust . To make the wait feel shorter, we’ll be sharing more about the new functions and the behind-the-scenes of this great journey we are walking together.
